room at a time?
The same thinking applies to the entire supply chain, but
for now, the focus will be on how pacing applies at Distinctive
Custom Cabinetry (DCC).
Room by room
Great strides have been made, but there is much more that
can be done.
Since a job is installed room by room, we need to redirect
the focus to running rooms in the order that they will be
installed. When that is accomplished, more rooms from a
variety of jobs can be run simultaneously, which creates a win
for the shop, a win for the install group and a win for suppliers who don’t have to deliver so far in advance of actual usage.
Creating false demand on the supply chain causes them to
consume resources unnecessarily.
So, how can DCC get from four-plus weeks internal manufacturing time to less than seven days?
We start by gathering better information from the job site.
Our French Mitered Doors and Drawer
Fronts provide increased structural
integrity. The molding detail is part of the
stiles and rails, making it ideal for humid
or dry conditions. The tenon is not visible
on the end grain, giving them a more
refined appearance. Lastly, there is variety
in the widths of the stiles and rails, giving
you more flexibility and options.
