Top execs share leadership strategies at EBC 2019
Peer-to-peer from the podium April 14-16 at the San Jose Marriott
Wood industry executives will share leadership strategies and insights into managing people, production and technology during the 2019 Executive Briefing Conference.
The 15th edition of this high-level business management
gathering takes place April 14-16, and will focus on the nexus
between workforce and technology, aiming to inspire and
ignite attendees to create change in their businesses.
Taking place at the San Jose Marriott, in the heart of California’s Silicon Valley, it will feature Danielle Clarke, Adobe’s
Director, Talent Development, who will talk about getting the
most from individuals in one of the most hotly competitive
labor markets. Since workforce is among the most critical issues facing managers, a panel of wood industry educators will
examine recruitment and retention issues for manufacturers.
EBC participants will also tour the freshly remodeled
Adobe Headquarters, with Gensler Technology Leader, De-
sign Director, and Principal Natalie Engels, who headed the
project. Top business and motivational speakers will provide
depth to conference sessions, including Luke Williams, pro-
fessor of innovation and design at New York University’s Stern
School of Business, speaking on “Disruptive Management.”
Peer-to-peer sharing and networking, the hallmark of EBC
gatherings, will be expanded this year, with more than a dozen
wood products business and operations managers.
Wood Manufacturing Case Studies
Trexler, Ripley and Reimer will participate in a CEO Panel
examining the decision process for capital investment. Reimer will also present a case study of Tru Cabinetry, one of
three business profiles by wood manufacturing execs.
EBC attendees will also hear from Dan Casebier, CEO of
Bierson Inc., a Central Point, Oregon store fixtures firm that is
on the leading edge of product development for its clients.
A CEO Panel will examine factors to weigh in capital
investment decisions, featuring Mission Bell Manufacturing
CEO Glenn Ripley; Mark Trexler, COO of ACProducts (the
Armstrong spinoff); and Tru Cabinetry CEO Butch Reimer.
The Executive Briefing Conference will include the first
Wood Industry Market Leaders Awards Luncheon, featuring seven of Woodworking Network’s 2018 honorees: Jeff De
Lonay, Kolbe & Kolbe Millwork Co. ; Max Verkamp, Indiana
Furniture; Ola Yoder, Kountry Wood Products; Gat Caperton,
Gat Creek; Ralph Fehr, Elias Woodwork; Ron Montbleau,
Montbleau & Associates; and Lisa Adams, LA Closet Design.
Financial keynoter Alan Beaulieu, president of ITR Economics, will share economic trends and his market forecast
based on unique econometric models incorporating running
