I’m inspired to write about this, because I’ve had the pleasure of working
with very engaged owners recently.
They are wholly committed and see
the amazing benefits that continuous
improvement brings. However, I have
received much feedback from their
team that things are changing so fast
they don’t have time to sustain the latest change and see the full benefits.
They are frustrated with dealing
with the fallout of the changes that
weren’t tested and well communicated.
For them, it feels like they are jumping
all over the place and don’t understand
why. Even if the latest change is better, they rebel against it because they
haven’t had the time to prove it and

When it comes from one or two owner/
managers, then it’s their idea which
typically tilts people into pushback.
Teach your people to see waste and
make it a comfortable environment to
fail forward. If you think their ideas
are not solving the real issue, help
them understand the root cause and
teach them problem solving skills.

This lets you off the hook of having
