ShopBot's Buddy is designed for cutting in
wood, plastics, and aluminum. The company says the Buddy incorporates many
of the same features as ShopBot’s full-size
industrial systems, yet weighs less than
600 lbs. and occupies as little as 16 sq.
ft. of floor space. The Buddy uses moving
decks that are available with either a 24
by 32 in. work area or a 24 by 48 in.
work area and can be expanded with
the use of a PowerStick attachment to
lengths up to 8 ft.

traditional manner, running programs gen-
erated with virtually any CNC software.
CNC router with auto alignment
Next Wave Automation’s CNC Shark
HD4 Extended has a small footprint
according to the company. With a color
pendant controller and auto alignment,
the Shark HD4 features a heavy-duty
gantry reinforced with plate aluminum and
a rigid interlocking aluminum table, anti-backlash, and wear-compensated high
precision lead screws on all three axes.
The company suggests that it be used
with a 2-1/4HP router or the optional
3-axis CNC router
