Next stop for Wood
Pro Expo – Lancaster
Event features expanded exhibit hall and
emphasis on education.
Wood Pro Expo returns to the Spooky Nook Sports Center October 17-18 in Manheim, Pennsylvania, near Lancaster. Following a successful 2018 event, show manager Lewis
Goldman said the floorplan will be increased by 25 percent.
Last year’s event had 12,000 square feet of exhibit space.
“We’ve had a good number of returning exhibitors sign
up already, and response has been excellent from first-time
exhibitors,” said Goldman.
Nearly 700 woodworking industry professionals attended
Wood Pro Expo Lancaster 2018.
Commitment to learning
A hallmark of Wood Pro Expo Lancaster, the educational
portion will include two free keynotes, the Running Machinery Program and classroom sessions.
FDMC Editor Will Sampson will kick off Day 1 with his
keynote, “Path to Professionalism.” Aimed at woodworking
businesses starting out, or ones that still struggle, this presentation explores business fundamentals specifically for shops with
an emphasis on custom work. Sampson will discuss business
practices, efficient production, marketing, and secrets some
shops don’t learn for decades.
The Wood Doctor, Eugene Wengert, will launch Day Two
with his keynote, “Controlling your future.” Get a prescription on how to survive, and do even better than before, in
spite of concerns on wood availability and quality, economic
conditions and employee issues. He’ll also field questions
from the audience on challenges you are encountering.
Another show highlight is the Running Machinery Pro-
gram, in which exhibitors provide educational demonstrations
on key aspects of woodworking, finishing and other processes.
CMA hosts seminars, plant tours
Wood Pro Expo Lancaster is once again collaborating with
the Cabinet Makers Association to provide educational ses-
sions at the event. These sessions will address many of the
challenges shop owners and managers face in the day-to-
day operation of their businesses. Pricing, CNC, employee
recruiting, finishing, lean manufacturing, business software,
safety, shop tips and trends are sample topics covered.
In addition, the CMA will offer plant tours on October 16,
the day before the show opens.
See who attends

caster attendees, 84% said they would attend another Wood
Pro Expo event. In addition:

and another 13% have been in the industry for at least a year.

decision-maker on purchasing for their company.
