The new Powermat 2400:
Ideal for industrial production
The robust moulder has CNC-controlled axes
and is equipped for feed speeds of up to
100 m/min. Thanks to the integrated joint
system, it delivers excellent surface quality
even at maximum output. The new Comfort
Set operating concept makes setup
significantly quicker and easier. With its high
degree of flexibility, the new Powermat 2400
is suitable for a variety of materials and
applications including 3D structuring and
New OptiCut 450 Quantum:
Third cross-cut saw generation the best yet
Since it was launched on the market in
2003, the OptiCut 450 has been the fastest
cross-cut saw in the world. The latest version
pushes the boundaries of technical possibility
further still. New cooling technology and
unlimited cutting performance are the standout features of the third generation. The
VarioStroke (patent pending) will be available
as an option going forward. VarioStroke
automatically determines the optimal cutting
geometry based upon the cross-section, thus
offering significant added value.
New Conturex 125 Vario:
Complete furniture processing
Parallel charging with three buffer fields, four
Vario single-clamp tables and two interpolating
five-axis heads are the outstanding features of
the Conturex for furniture production. The
fully-automated CNC center impresses with
its processing without retooling even with
the smallest batches. External tool magazines
with up to 138 slots guarantee maximum
flexibility. A feedback module ensures
efficient energy savings.
The WEINIG System Plus connects all processes
through to setup of the machine. Following a
positive start in Europe, the technology is now
taking the USA by storm.
Sitting comfortably at the office PC, managing the
entire automated process from the profile idea to the
finished product Is a philosophy currently taking hold
in more and more countries. In the USA, the Legere
Group recently became the first genuine sector
heavyweight to invest in WEINIG System Plus. In this
instance, it was the difficulty in finding well-trained,
skilled personnel that prompted the decision in favor
of the simple, networked solution. Like all other
users of WEINIG System Plus, Legere’s production is
characterized by profile diversity. The same is true of
Anderson & McQuaid Co., Ltd. in Massachusetts. The
company’s product range includes more than 240
different profiles. This spectrum ranges from rough-sawn to fine-planed, from cherry wood to mahogany. Everything is produced in the company workshop
and is either held in stock or may be picked up as
early as the same day.
Besides quality, flexibility is the primary USP of
Anderson & McQuaid in the market. The company's
high standards demanded a contemporary solution for
work preparation. They found it in WEINIG System
Plus. The centerpiece is the Moulder Master software.
This is complemented by hardware components
comprising the OptiControl Digital measuring stand,
Rondamat 1000 CNC tool grinder and Powermat 700
profiling machine. Like Legere, Anderson & McQuaid
also opted for the big CNC solution for grinding and
sharpening. The Rondamat 1000 CNC delivers
consistent quality and maximum processing precision
– regardless of the complexity of the contours or the
number of cuts.
Company sales manager Patrick McQuaid is delighted
with his new investment. “WEINIG System Plus can
do everything we can as good craftsmen but faster
and more precisely,” he says. Since the technology
was introduced, his business has increased its

Big Impact With a
Small Finger Jointer
The WEINIG ProfiJoint Eagle entry-level model
hits the U.S. market for $110,000 installed. This
newly developed finger jointer uses the same
technology as the larger machines, but is capable of one-man operation.
The ProfiJoint Eagle is a strong investment with an
outstanding cost-performance ratio. Due to the
modular design, the line can be upgraded to a shaper
combination. Just one of the many plus points,
including the quick return it offers.
Easy operation is key for smaller shops who are new
to this technology. It’s also available in a compact
option to accommodate a small footprint. The new
ProfiJoint, which has the ability to handle vertical and
horizontal finger joints, can be used with all types of
glue and features a customizable level of automation
from manual to fully automatic. This level of technology
has not been available at this price point before.
The cast iron body reduces vibrations in the area
where the precision of the finger jointing is paramount.
And not forgetting the tool technology: Regardless
of whether you are marking vertically or horizontally
with pre-scorers, the ProfiJoint range uses the same
equipment as the high performance models.
